Dr Saji John is an experienced General Practitioner and Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He completed his MBBS on a scholarship at one of India’s leading medical colleges in Trivandrum. He later completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Science, majoring in Immunology, in New Zealand. In Australia, he successfully completed the required medical examinations and extensive clinical training to achieve Fellowship of the RACGP.
His diverse career has included working at Port Phillip Prison in Melbourne, as well as in rural and Aboriginal health, aged care and emergency medicine. During his time at Port Phillip Prison, Dr John experienced a heart attack and subsequently underwent bypass surgery, giving him a personal understanding of the patient journey.
Having travelled to 72 countries, he brings a deep appreciation of different cultures and backgrounds to his practice. Dr John is committed to providing compassionate, respectful and patient-centered care to the Port Augusta community. He was also nominated for Citizen of the year, Port Augusta 2026.
